Ooranga Playgroup $20 annual fee (payable once across all 3 Ooranga Services).
Playgroups give an opportunity to connect families, strengthen communities and enables children to learn through play.
Ooranga playgroup sessions run for two hours, once per fortnight at each location. The playgroups provide both creative and structured learning activities for young children, helping them to explore and understand their world. Playgroup helps children develop their social skills, make friends and get ready for preschool and school.
Playgroups enable parents and carers to spend quality time with their children while developing their own social networks in their community, making friends and sharing ideas and experiences. Ooranga playgroups can provide a link between families and other health and community services and provide a solid base for the development and maintenance of strong and resilient communities.
The Ooranga playgroup also provides a Mobile Toy Library to families who live in rural and remote areas. The Mobile Toy Library provides quality resources and toys suited to young children and supports parents in their role as educators.

Printed copies of our policies are located at the Ooranga office, each preschool venue and in the playgroup van and are available to all members. Ooranga policies are developed by staff and Ooranga members in accordance to the seven areas of the National Quality Standard. The policies, along with supporting operational procedures, assist staff and members to ensure the safety of children and adults in attendance at Ooranga services and guide the provision of quality early childhood education and care.
Policies are regularly reviewed by staff and the Ooranga Management Committee. Families are encouraged to read the Policies, ask staff if they have any questions and provide any suggestions for changes to improve the quality of Ooranga services.
All staff, volunteers and members are expected to abide by the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics.
A copy of these is available at Ooranga centres or online at the ECA website.
